Paul Edward Stokes

Paul Edward Stokes was born September 17, 1955 in Chicago, IL to  A.C. Stokes and Ernese Davis Parks and was reared in Holly Grove, Arkansas.  Later in life, he moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. Paul departed from this world on December 18, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Paul enjoyed playing basketball, fishing and spending quality time with family.   He loved his family and friends and one of his main expression was “love you” after every conversation. Paul accepted Christ at the age of 14 at New Rising Star Baptist Church in Holly Grove, Arkansas.

Paul was a very hard working man and had many occupations-farmer, roofer and meat cutter at a local grocery store in Holly Grove.  One of his life’s accomplishments was becoming the Head Chef at Capital Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas where he worked for 15 years until his illness. The locals and famous people from all over the world that came to the Capital Hotel restaurant loved and admired him. Paul was a wonderful father, brother, uncle and a precious friend that many people loved.  

Paul department from this world was on December 18, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Earnese Davis Parks.  

He leaves to cherish his memories: two lovely children, Reanetta Stokes of Los Angeles, CA and Antwon Stokes of Detroit, MI; father, A.C. Stokes of Holly Grove, AR; three sisters, Annie Cochran of Conway, Arkansas,  Stephanie Stokes and Eddie Ruth Arnold both of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Rickie Austin of Conway, Arkansas; a special love, Dorothy Young of Little Rock, AR; three uncles, Vonice Parks of Holly Grove, AR, Roy Parks of Gary, IN and Stanley Austin of Little Rock, AR;  three aunts,  Vera Grayson of Holly Grove, AR, Doris Austin of Little Rock, AR and Earnestine Loving of St. Louis, Mo; four granddaughters with a host of nephews, nieces , cousins and friends and many others that call him Papa.
