Ocie Noel Obituary

Mother Ocie “Mae”Noel was born July 4, 1936 in Sherrill, Arkansas to Henry Lee Kertis and Osie Haysley Kertis. She transitioned from Earth to Glory on Sunday, November 10, 2019. 

She was married to a wonderful and loving man, Deacon Billy Noel, for 45 years and to this union they had seven beautiful children and raised two special grandchildren.

 

Mother Mae Noel confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Lively Stone Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Suff. Bishop Otis Baker and Pastor Dorothy Allen in Allport, Arkansas and later Pastor Al Allen in Stuttgart, Arkansas.  She was a graceful member of the Mother Board and the Golden Girls. She believed in supporting her church and pastor in any capacity. Her favor scripture was Psalms 27:4 “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek after”, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord,…” Her favorite pastime was going to Yard Sales, Flea Markets and Reading.  She also enjoyed creating ceramic pottery.  She was a remarkable mother, grandmother and friend that will never be forgotten.

Mother Noel was preceded in by her husband, Deacon Billy Noel; her parents, Henry and Osie Kertis; two brothers and five sisters.

Mother Noel’s memories will live on through her children: two son, Allen (Johngerlyn Jonesy) Young and Dexter (Faye) Withers; four daughters, Gloria Hutchinson, Sheila Noel (Theodore)Johnson, Nina Noel Edwards, and Debra Roberts; three sisters, Mary Goodlowe, Claudia Blakey and Zetta Faye Jones; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with  a host of other relatives.
