Jeremiah “Jerry” Reed was born January 12, 1949 to Rev. David Van and Mrs.
Lubirda Evans Reed in Postelle, AR. He was the youngest of a total of 14
He graduated from Postelle School, and he was Salutatorian of his class when he
graduated from M. M. Tate High School in 1968 in Marvell, AR.
Jerry became a business proprietor of a service station and repair shop after high
school. Later, he worked for varies companies as a machinist and quality control
inspector. He retired from Pine Bluff School District in 2010. After retirement, he
worked for Mid-Delta Community Services as a food service driver for the elderly.
He was united in matrimony three times, from which no children were born.
Jeremiah was baptized in Jesus name and became a member of the Apostolic Life
Center Church in 2010 under the leadership of his sister, Pastor Sarah Jackson and
later under his nephew, Pastor LeRoy Jackson, Jr. There he received the baptism
of the Holy Ghost, and worked with the media ministry, as a driver, maintenance
and director of the transportation ministry, and he was a Sunday School teacher.
Jerry’s parents and nine siblings preceded him in death.

Oliver (Johnny), Little Rock, AR, Sarah Jackson (LeRoy, Sr.), Marvell, AR; two
sisters-in-law: Matline [Andrew]Reed, Virgie Mae [Nathanial]Reed, Little Rock,
AR; two godchildren: David Craft, Batesville, AR, Niki Gonzales, Jonesboro, AR.
He leaves many nieces and nephews to the third and fourth generations, a friend
and helper, Johnell Phillips, and many other friends and acquaintances.
