Gloria Gaynor Obituary

Gloria Dean Phillips affectionately known as {as” Busy or Candy Doll} was born July 24, 1952 to the parents of Thomas Jerry Phillips, Sr and Josephine Williams who preceded her in death.  She was the fifth sibling born to this union and {1} brother, Leon Phillips preceded her in death.

Gloria accepted Christ as Savior and Lord under the leadership of the late Revered T.H. Scissom of the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in Postelle, Arkansas.  She sang in the choir.

Gloiria later moved to Little Rock, AR.  She continued her education at Shorter College in Office Administration.

She united with the First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock under the leadership of Bishop Leodis Warren.  She served faithfully as a cook with kitchen staff.  Gloria loved life, family, cooking and traveling.  Family gatherings were very dear to her heart and always brought out excitement and her beautiful smile.

Gloria and Bishop Gaynor were united in Holy Matrimony on May 17, 2010.  She united with the Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of her husband where she served faithfully.

On March 18, 2020, Gloria heard the voice of her Lord saying, “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the Joy of your Lord.” KJV

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Bishop Samuel Gaynor, 2 sons; Darrel {Susan} of Little Rock, AR and Taft Gentry of North Little Rock, AR, 2 daughters, Daliah cook and Kayla Deshazen of Dallas, TX, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; Stepchildren;  Samuel Gaynor, Jr of Masnfield, GA; Dennis Gaynor, Connie (Fred) Bennett and Eric Gaynor of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Craig (Benita) Gaynor of Little Rock, AR; Kevin (Marry)Gaynor and Aundra Gaynor of Fort Smith, AR and Anotnio(Nicole)Gaynor of Van Buren, AR and 5 sisters; Dorothy J. Phillips-Bobo of Chicago, Il; Queen E. Phillips of Hainsville IL, Frederica Thomas and Linda L. Phillips of Little Rock, AR., Luticia M.  Phillips of Postelle, AR; 4 brothers; Thomas Jerry {Eugenia} Phillips, Jr. of Chicago, IL., Willie George {Diane} Phillips of Little Rock, AR., John L. Phillips, Jr of Postelle, AR and Orlando Phillips of Joliet, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, friends and members of The Church of Jesus Christ family.
